the temple of god baal in the bekaa valley, today surrounded by the town of baalbek. i really felt the heat that day.

baalbek is hezbollah heartland. you can buy the t-shirt for 3 dollars. this traveller, however, does not support terrorists!

instead, i relaxed in the beautiful decay of the palmyra hotel. once it hosted charles de gaulle, and a flock of french film stars. today only the staff remember the golden days. i'm certain that brigitte bardot stayed in my hotel room!
